"Feathers Appear When Angels Are Near"

Yesterday I woke up early, ran at Matheson Hammock Park and witnessed my first sunrise in Miami. The surroundings were tranquil, just what one would expect on an early morning run. There's something special about getting up at the crack of dawn, while most others are still sound asleep in their beds.

I showered and got ready for 8am mass and was fashionably late. Better late than never though right?! I found out the 8am service is the velocious service. There wasn't music so I'd compare it to the 5pm mass at St. John's. When church was let out one of the ushers approached me asking if I was a new parishioner. I told him I was and gave him the whole low down. He then introduced me to the Priest and to Monsignor. The Priest (I already forgot his name) is from Poland and altruistic. Monsignor who is originally from Ireland greeted me with the warmest smile and there was a twinkle in his eye. He took my hand and then gently touched my face and I could just tell he was a genuine soul. He has been with the parish for 25 years!

As I was leaving the church though a feather fell right in front of me. I picked it up and took it with me. I'm not sure if y'all have ever heard of the phrase, "Feathers appear when angels are near." I believe this to be true. The feather was white and black. The significance behind finding white feathers are it's a sign from the angels that your loved ones in Heaven are well, and have successfully crossed over into the spirit realms. White is also a symbol of faith and protection, and when you find white feathers in peculiar locations the message is especially significant. While black feathers are a reminder of the protection of your angels, and a signal that spiritual wisdom, and magic are accessible by you within.

I believe that I'm never alone because I feel that wherever my life journey leads me...my Birth Dad and all my Grandparents are with me. Finding this feather was a reminder for me to keep on going down the path that I'm on. To keep my faith and never stop believing!
